Four Application Processes of Vacuum Pump in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry

Pharmaceutical manufacturers have four types of products: products in bulk, semi-manufactured products, active ingredients and pharmaceutical products. In pharmaceutical production, it involves vacuum separation and rough extraction, low vacuum recovery of organic solvents, high vacuum distillation of high boiling point thermosensitive materials, vacuum filtration and removal of solid impurities, and vacuum drying of powder intermediates or products. In all these processes, vacuum collection equipment is indispensable. The vacuum equipment used include claw type dry pump, screw vacuum pump, etc. The followings are four main application processes of vacuum pump in pharmaceutical industry:


Distillation


Distillation is to separate two or more media layers or parts with different temperature, pressure, composition and phase state. As the distillation column tends to be balanced, each part has different concentrations and can be separated from the mixture. The distillation tower provides the air pressure to separate different liquid components, which can be separated by changing the vacuum degree and temperature. Yining Dry Vacuum acquisition device can remove non-condensable substances, water and light hydrocarbons in the system, and separate the raw materials through the distillation tower, condense the gas discharged from the top of the distillation tower, and return the liquid to the distillation tower for further separation. It is typically applied to fatty acids, mono-component glycerol hydrochloric acid, oil, grease, paraffin, pesticides and plasticizers.


Crystallization


The saturated liquid evaporates and cools to form crystals, which are convenient to carry, store and sell. For this application, vacuum pump is the ideal choice for crystallization process. They can be used under all pressures to control the evaporation and cooling rate, and reduce the production cost by reducing the boiling point of liquid.


Drying


Drying is a low cost and low temperature procedure. It sublimates by controlling the vacuum degree, evaporates liquid from solid, and biological or active components are not destroyed, reduced or oxidized. The drying of medical and biological products, including the removal of solvent and water, requires that the vacuum degree of final drying be less than 1 torr. We recommend our claw pump roots unit with excellent vacuum. After drying, leave granular products, and then press them into pieces. The low humidity can be maintained for a longer time.


Vacuum Degassing


Degassing is to remove dissolved or residual gas in liquid or product. The vacuum device can remove the gas in the liquid, improve the physical properties and product quality, facilitate the further processing of materials, and avoid cross contamination or corrosion. For example, deoiling can improve the purity (hydrocarbon oil, insulating oil, turbine oil, brake fluid and hydraulic brake oil, etc.), and the polymer degassing in the extruder can obtain products with no bubbles or higher quality.
